Brave Beachwear
Born right here on Magnetic Island, Brave Beachwear is the work of local couple Seb and Bec, combining Seb’s 15 years of lifesaving experience with Bec’s background in fashion design and a shared love of tropical beach life.
Living and swimming in North Queensland, they saw a problem. Stinger suits are one of the simplest ways to add protection from marine stingers and the harsh Australian sun, but traditional versions weren’t exactly something people were excited to wear. So they set out to change that.
Their Bravesuits combine full body coverage and UPF50+ sun protection with bold patterns, flattering cuts and durable Italian fabrics. There are designs for women, men and kids, alongside swimwear and rashies, so the whole family can be better prepared for tropical beach days without looking like they’ve borrowed a hire suit.
Brave is also about education. Seb and Bec use the brand to raise awareness around marine stingers and sun safety, helping visitors understand why a little extra protection matters when swimming in tropical North Queensland. Their motto sums it up pretty well: Zip Before You Dip.
