Summer House Magnetic Island

Summer House Magnetic Island is a beachfront hostel in Arcadia, set directly opposite Geoffrey Bay. Walk across the road and you’re on the sand.

Rooms are simple and social. You’ve got a mix of dorm-style rooms, female-only dorms, and private rooms, with shared or private bathrooms depending on how you want to stay. Lockers, curtains, air con and the basics are all covered, with communal spaces, a shared kitchen and a pool to use in between swims.

From here, everything in Arcadia is within easy reach. The Geoffrey Bay Snorkel Trail sits right out front, the Bremner Point rock wallabies are a short walk away, and the elevated, accessible Gabul Way track runs just behind the bay.

You’re also close to a couple of island staples. Arcadia Bakehouse for coffee and something decent to eat, and Arcadia Store when you need to grab supplies.

It’s a straightforward base in a good spot. Beach out front, everything else within walking distance, and a social setup if you’re keen to meet people along the way.
