Nomads Magnetic Island

Perched on the cliffs above Nelly Bay, Nomads Magnetic Island is one of those places people book for a few nights and end up staying much longer. With sweeping ocean views, palm-lined grounds and a social atmosphere that feels more like a tropical holiday than your typical hostel, it’s easy to see why it’s become such a favourite with travellers visiting Magnetic Island.

Accommodation ranges from budget-friendly shared dorms through to the iconic private A-frame cabins overlooking the water, giving guests the option to keep things simple or wake up to some of the best views on the island.

On site, you’ll find Island Burger and The Island Bar keeping everyone fed and entertained, with regular live music, themed nights, trivia and social events creating a fun atmosphere most nights of the week. It’s the kind of place where afternoons easily roll into sunset drinks overlooking the bay.

Rocky Bay lookout is just a short walk away, while the bus stop right out the front makes it easy to explore the rest of the island’s beaches, walking tracks and bays. The team can also help organise tours and activities, making it a great base for both relaxing and getting out to experience Magnetic Island.

Waking up on the hillside overlooking Nelly Bay and the Coral Sea is pretty hard to beat, especially from the private A-frame cabins.
