SeaLink is the quickest passenger ferry connection between Townsville and Magnetic Island, with high-speed ferries making the crossing in just 20 minutes and up to 17 return services operating each day.

Ferries depart from the Breakwater Ferry Terminal in Townsville and arrive at the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal, right in the heart of Magnetic Island. Tickets can be purchased online, through the SeaLink app or at the terminal, with passengers encouraged to arrive 15–20 minutes before departure.

Once you arrive on the island, Kinetic buses connect Nelly Bay with the island’s main bays and villages, making it easy to continue your journey without a car.

If you’re leaving a vehicle in Townsville, paid parking is available at the Breakwater Terminal. The terminal is also easily reached by taxi or Uber, with a pre-booked Townsville City Shuttle service available from Townsville Airport.
