Magnetic Island Tours
Want to see more of Maggie than the usual stops? Magnetic Island Tours is a locally owned, family run business offering small group experiences built around wildlife, history, hidden locations and the stories that make the island what it is.
The Maggie Comprehensive Day Tour is their all rounder and a great option for first time visitors. With a maximum of 16 guests, you’ll spend the day exploring bays and scenic lookouts, searching for wild koalas and rock wallabies and hearing about everything from island life to WWII history. There’s also a relaxed break at Horseshoe Bay, with time to grab lunch, explore or have a swim.
For something a little different, go Behind the Scenes with Izzy’s Dad. Tim Bee, known from Izzy’s Koala World, takes small groups beyond the standard island tour with access to private conservation areas, a strong focus on wildlife and plenty of local stories gathered from decades of island life. There’s also a private experience that can be shaped around your interests, whether that’s wildlife, photography, history or simply seeing places most visitors miss.
Prefer to explore on foot? Their Forts Walking Tour adds a local guide to Maggie’s most famous walking track, combining wild koala spotting with WWII history, the old fortifications and some pretty spectacular views across the Coral Sea.
If you’re short on time, the seasonal Maggie Highlights Tour packs wildlife, coastal bays, lookouts and local stories into a shorter experience. They also offer Cruise Ship Specials timed around ship visits, along with private tours, bus hire and island transfers for families, weddings, schools and larger groups.
Accessibility is another standout, with a wheelchair accessible minibus featuring a lift and securement space, helping make exploring Maggie possible for visitors with different mobility requirements.
WHAT WE LOVE
Behind the Scenes with Izzy’s Dad: Join Tim Bee from Izzy’s Koala World for a different look at Maggie, with private conservation areas, wildlife and plenty of stories from decades of island life.
The Forts, With a Local: You can absolutely walk the Forts yourself, but having a local guide adds another layer. Spot wild koalas, explore the WWII fortifications and hear the stories behind what you’re actually looking at.
More Than a Lap of the Island: Wildlife, history, local stories, beautiful bays and island life are woven through the experience, so you come away knowing a little more about Maggie rather than simply seeing it through a bus window.
Accessible Island Adventures: With a wheelchair accessible minibus featuring a lift and securement space, Magnetic Island Tours is helping make more of Maggie accessible to visitors with different mobility needs.
